Junior Test Development Engineer

Role:
Part-time position (24 hours per week)
You will be reporting directly to the Technical Manager and your main responsibilities will include automated test system design and development. Your technical input will require you to have or acquire a good level of understanding of electrical/electronic hardware.
You will get the opportunity to be involved in small and manageable projects for the company. Training will also be provided as part of your learning journey, from concept and specification, design through prototyping and testing in preparation for manufacture. A keen and responsible attitude to work and an ability to show initiative in all responsibilities and tasks.
Responsibilities:
Design of electronic/electrical equipment. Ability to write software in C/C++. Test report writing. Assembly of electronic/electrical prototypes. Wiring of electrical assemblies. Specification & purchasing of components. Managing individual projects. Producing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and cost projects & assemblies. Design for manufacture. Writing of technical literature.
Experience Needed: Electrical/electronic design principles. Electro-mechanical design principles. Experience of using LabVIEW by National Instruments. Understanding & following circuit schematics. Test & measurement system integration. Conceptual design & prototyping. Understanding of renewable energy solutions. A good understanding of the key principles of automation. Ability to take designs from initial concept through to completion. Championing initiatives that will reduce the carbon costs on our planet. Working within and collaborating with the team.
