Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities. Managing project costs from inception to completion. Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs. Monitoring project progress and ensuring cost control measures are in place. Analysing tenders and contracts for profitability and risk. Negotiating with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Preparing and submitting detailed progress reports. Ensuring compliance with statutory building regulations and contractual obligations. Resolving disputes and handling any financial claims. Essential Qualifications and Skills:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or a similar industry. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, such as JCT or NEC. Proficient in using relevant software, e.g., CostX, MS Excel, or similar tools. Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
