An excellent opportunity has arisen within the new Design, Construction and Maintenance (DCM) Team for a Projects Manager Direct Delivery to deliver a range of Construction and Maintenance schemes across the Council’s non-domestic buildings estate including schools through our team of experienced project managers. The newly established DCM Team is responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of building-related projects across the Council’s school and corporate building estates. The Team adopts a multi-discipline approach to ensure that the Council’s broad range of policy objectives are fully considered. In this regard, the Council’s sustainability, energy, health and safety, waste, carbon reduction goals along with its social inclusion, community benefits, wellbeing and accessibility objectives are all considered and applied to deliver projects on time, within cost and to the required quality. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Projects Manager to drive innovative projects that support strategic improvement. You will lead a team of project managers to deliver projects throughout the councils non-domestic buildings to achieve impactful transformation initiatives, including managing project resources, budgets, and timelines, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve critical goals in line with the council’s visions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed project plans, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, and delivering projects to a high standard. You will ensure the team keeps our clients informed and updated with clear communication throughout their experience. As the key figure, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure project objectives are met, risks are managed, and new approaches are successfully integrated. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, collaborative leader with exceptional project management skills. What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced team leader with a strong background in construction and leading public sector projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives from inception to completion, with a focus on driving positive change, improving efficiencies, and achieving measurable outcomes. A thorough understanding of project management methodologies, budget management, and stakeholder engagement is essential, alongside an ability to navigate and integrate various council policies and national education guidelines. The successful candidate will bring excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, educators, and external partners. We are seeking a strategic thinker who can manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving project needs, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
