Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures. Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs of facilities and equipment. Perform due diligence on service providers to ensure best service & contract terms. Manage existing contractors & service providers. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Coordinate with external contractors, completing RAMS and ensuring they comply with UK regulations & standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs. Conduct regular risk assessments & safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards alongside the H&S Manager. Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment warranties. Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly. Assist with energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives. Co-ordinate with the purchasing department to maintain & manage sufficient stocks of equipment and janitorial supplies. Manage and supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Liaise between departments, prioritising urgent items. Job related skills:
Proven experience as a Facilities/Maintenance Manager or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to build effective relationships. Self-motivated with ability to show initiative. Ability to balance priorities, work well under pressure, time manage and work to tight deadlines. Hours
