Are you interested in Signalling & Telecoms? Do you enjoy hands-on problem solving and fixing electrical problems? Do you want to work for a company that safely transports railway passengers? Then this might be a role for you! We are looking to recruit for a range of roles within our Signalling & Telecoms team across the Liverpool area, including Operative, Technician, and Team Leader roles based out of depots in Liverpool Central, Edge Hill, Crewe, Chester & Warrington. As part of the role, you will undertake inspection, faulting, signalling maintenance, and telecoms installation. An Operative is the first step in an S&T career with progression opportunities into Technician and Team Leader roles. You will be enrolled in a 6-12 month training programme, which involves classroom and practical hands-on learning experiences, partnered with an experienced member of staff. Key Responsibilities

Tasks will include: Electrical measurements:

Using advanced testing equipment to check the performance of signalling systems. Mechanical work:

Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical components that control train directions. We value individuals with transferable skills, a willingness to learn, and a desire to develop new skills, including: Basic electrical work (e.g., wiring up new light fittings). Mechanical problem-solving (e.g., repairing car engine faults). Computerised logic systems (e.g., understanding and troubleshooting automated systems). Whether you're new to the field or bringing experience from another technical discipline, there are plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement within Network Rail. Roles Overview

Operative:

A key member of the team, responsible for ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently. Technician:

Builds upon the Operative position with added responsibilities, including leadership and oversight of work quality. Team Leader:

Directs and motivates a high-performing team, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Essential Criteria

Able to work as part of a team. Able and willing to drive vehicles as required. Interest or experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather types at any time of the day. Desire to improve and learn from various training methods. Desirable Criteria

Valid PTS certification. Previous experience in S&T installation or working with S&T equipment. Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or relevant experience. This role involves days, nights, and weekend working, and is subject to drug and alcohol testing and medical assessment. Company
