Role Responsibility

Kent County Council's Adult Short Stay Services currently has an exciting and rare opportunity for a Registered Manager to join our team at West View Integrated Care Centre in Tenterden. We are looking for a motivated and professional person who is committed to working in integrated multi-agency teams, ready to embrace change and new ways of working. Our social care interventions are structured around the three pillars of excellent practice, exceptional innovation, and meaningful measures. Therefore, our work is orientated around building relationships with the individual, their families and carers. As a key part of KCC Adult Social Services core values, Adult Short Stay Services aim to provide enablement and support services to help people to return home and achieve the outcomes that are important to them following a period of illness or respite care. You will be responsible for leading and managing the short stay registered care centre, whilst complying with current CQC requirements and current legislation. You will work collaboratively with commissioners, partner organisations, the local NHS and the CQC to deliver an effective service. Minimum Requirements: You will have a Level 5 Diploma or above in Care and a Management qualification at Level 5 or above. You will hold a Registration with Care Quality Commission as a Registered Manager and be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. You will have experience in working with older people, preferably in reablement/intermediate care services and be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the CQC assessment framework, evidencing compliance to a Good or Outstanding standard. You will also have a working knowledge of national policies, the adult community care legal framework and policies and procedures relevant to managing a care centre/care home. You will be entitled to a generous annual leave allowance and the local government pension scheme. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
