Job overview We are looking for a motivated individual with good communication, administrative and organisational skills to support the administrative systems required to run the Outpatient Occupational Therapy Neurological Rehabilitation Service. The role also includes working with adults who have a neurological diagnosis to provide rehabilitation interventions under the guidance of the Occupational Therapists. Main duties of the job

The post involves working closely with staff in a small, friendly team to help organise patient appointments and follow-ups, send out and put together patient treatment resource packs, input departmental data such as logging employee changes and assisting with waiting list administration. The role also includes ordering equipment, tidying and cleaning treatment rooms, monitoring stock, and arranging for any equipment repairs or replacements. The clinical aspect of the role involves working with adults with strokes, head injuries and other progressive neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, to help regain their independence and quality of life. Clinical duties will include assisting patients with arm activities to help improve their arm function, which will be carried out individually or in a group. Other interventions include telephone patient follow-ups, assisting with outpatient groups, such as relaxation or art/creative groups, and practicing functional activities with patients such as cooking. It also involves practicing with patients the use of aids to assist with dressing or in the kitchen and with tasks such as handwriting. Training, support and regular supervision will be provided. An informal visit is recommended. For more information, please contact Rebecca Peacock or Donna McCluskey. Working for our organisation

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research. The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington, and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury. Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues, and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement, and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family.
