Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you thrive in a nurturing, pupil-centered environment where every day presents new challenges and opportunities?

Aspire People are recruiting for an independent specialist school catering to pupils aged 5 to 19 years old. They are seeking proactive, open-minded, and patient Behaviour Mentors to join their dedicated team. The school provides a tailored approach to education, with smaller class sizes and a differentiated curriculum, enabling their pupils to thrive both academically and socially.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will: Support pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning difficulties, helping them develop confidence, independence, and key life skills. Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies that meet the unique needs of each pupil. Assist in delivering a differentiated curriculum, adapting activities to ensure accessibility for all learners. Support pupils in regulating their emotions and developing positive behaviours through a patient and proactive approach. Foster social development, encouraging pupils to build friendships and engage positively with others.

About You

The ideal candidate will: Be open-minded, resilient, and proactive in addressing challenges. Have experience working with young people with SEMH needs or additional learning needs, either in an educational, youth work, or care setting (preferred but not essential). Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Show empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Be adaptable and able to think on their feet in a dynamic environment. Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices (training will be provided).

What We Offer

Opportunities for professional development and training. A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people. A rewarding and fulfilling role in a specialist setting.

How to Apply

If you are passionate about supporting young people and are ready to take on a rewarding challenge, we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.

Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business. Aspire People is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects every candidate to share this commitment. Placements are subject to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.
