We have available: 1 X full-time, 37.5 hour per week and 1 X part-time, 20 hour per week positions available (permanent). An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person with a caring and friendly nature to join the Phlebotomy Team at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, Community Diagnostic Telford, and Whitchurch Community Hospital, working on Wards and in the community. This is a Trainee Phlebotomist post. Full and extensive departmental training will be given to the successful candidate. We are recruiting for full and part-time vacancies, hours to be worked Monday-Friday, weekends, and bank holidays. This will be on a Rota basis and time off will be given when on weekend duty. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure, have an approachable nature, the ability to fulfill the travel requirements, and the ability to record data accurately. Flexibility is important as shifts will vary according to service needs. Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be part of a team that provides a phlebotomy service to The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. Duties will include: Collection of blood samples by venepuncture from adults in general practice, ward, and outpatient settings. Collection of blood samples by venepuncture from children aged 12 months and over in outpatients or children’s clinics. Recording and labeling of samples. Delivery of samples to the laboratory: by hand, via the hospital vacuum air tube system, by portering staff, and transport systems. Working for your organization
