As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide the mental health expertise within the integrated neighbourhood team.
To work as part of the integrated neighbourhood team providing support, advice, consultation, and where appropriate care for people, regardless of age and diagnosis, presenting with mental health-related problems, to enable safe management of clients within the Integrated neighbourhood teams.
Main duties of the job
Work as a member of Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. Maintain current, up-to-date evidence-based knowledge of both functional and organic mental health disorders and the treatments/services available. Understand the needs of service users across all ages. Provide skilled mental health advice to service users, carers, and other professionals in the community in relation to both functional and organic mental health disorders. Work alongside Adult and Older People's mental health services as appropriate and work in partnership with health and social care services. Maintain a close working relationship with local teams, to step up or signpost as clinically indicated. Provide and coordinate formal and informal training to GPs, primary care, and social teams on topics relating to mental health as agreed, in order to further enhance the skills of the staff in the diagnosis and management of mental health disorders.
