Step Teachers are working with a lovely all-girls school in Tower Hamlets to find a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join them ASAP. This role is temporary working 4 days a week Tues to Fri up until Easter. It’s an exciting opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the safety and well-being of the school’s students while supporting a nurturing and empowering school community. The school prides itself on creating a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student feels valued and supported. As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, your key responsibilities will include: Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in implementing and maintaining the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures. Acting as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns, offering guidance and support to staff, students, and parents. Responding promptly to safeguarding issues, ensuring concerns are recorded and acted upon appropriately. Liaising with external agencies, including social services and the local safeguarding board, to ensure effective multi-agency collaboration. Supporting staff training and raising awareness of safeguarding best practices across the school. Monitoring and reviewing safeguarding systems to ensure they remain effective and compliant with statutory guidance. Requirements - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead: We are looking for a committed professional with: Relevant safeguarding training and qualifications, with a thorough understanding of statutory safeguarding requirements (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education). Experience working in a pastoral or safeguarding role, ideally in a school setting. Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills. The ability to remain calm and professional when managing sensitive or challenging situations. A strong commitment to promoting the safety and well-being of students. Why Apply?
