Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Trauma Surgery, based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. This is a fixed term post until 30/01/2026.
The successful applicant will join a dynamic forward thinking team of Orthopaedic Surgeons with a range of special interests, including lower limb arthroplasty, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow and hand and wrist.
The orthopaedic sub division is supported by a full time Consultant Orthogeriatrician and an accompanying team.
The successful applicant must have full registration with the GMC and continue to hold a Licence to Practice.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will support the trauma surgery service at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT). This will be a flexible post providing Trauma lists, fracture clinics and on call cover.

The post is offered at 10PAs with 9 PAs allocated to DCC and 1 PA allocated to SPA. The job plan is worked on a flexible basis.
There is a requirement for the successful candidate to participate on the on-call rota and this is currently 1:12 weekends and 1 weekday every 3 weeks.
Person Specification Qualification Essential Full GMC registration and LTP FRCS or equivalent Primary Medical Degree ATLS Desirable Further postgraduate degree Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview).
