. The role

The Fundamental Equities team manages our public market equity portfolios, which are concentrated, high-conviction, low-turnover portfolios with quality growth characteristics. We focus on companies with high barriers to entry and sustainable competitive advantages that benefit from powerful structural growth trends and can adapt to and capitalize on a rapidly changing market environment. As a sector specialist investment analyst, you will support all portfolios. Your core duties will include performing fundamental research on companies, creating investment memos and financial models, proactively seeking out new investments, and managing a watch list of stocks. The role will also involve pitching investment ideas to portfolio managers and participating in discussions about current and potential portfolio holdings, alongside collaborating with the sustainable ownership team to incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. The person

The successful candidate will be someone who can independently deliver high-quality analysis, communicate their research effectively, and work collaboratively across Railpen. You will have extensive experience in analysis, likely within equity research on the sell side or buy side, and experience covering at least one subsector within the healthcare industry. We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in expanding their knowledge across global healthcare sectors and has a passion for financial markets and investing. You will have an open, collaborative, and inquisitive approach to finding solutions, increasing idea generation and access to new investment opportunities. Effective communication skills are key for this role, along with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, ensuring that different perspectives are always valued. We value team players who prioritise the success of the team. If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply. Our values of integrity, community, and alignment are the guiding principles that influence our behaviour. They help us make decisions and shape our relationships with others. They’re what we stand for. You will actively demonstrate our values, helping to create a safe environment, to place the needs of the community above oneself and, through a culture of ‘fair challenge’, align to the best interests of our members.
