We'd like you to join us as a Staff Nurse (Mental Health) at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham.
At Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition. We’re committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, and empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible.
We provide a psychology-led multi-disciplinary treatment model to deliver a high quality, specialist service for people who have a neuro disability or acquired brain injury.
This role will be working in Millwood Unit.
Millwood Unit
- a Rehabilitation Unit delivering a programme following brain injury, to enable them to become as independent as possible (14 beds). What you'll be working: We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 38.5 hours per week, days & nights on a rota basis. What you'll be doing: To give care and support to individuals with physical and cognitive impairments as a result of brain injury or other progressive neurological condition. To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients/residents and take responsibility for: Protecting and supporting the health of individual patients/residents; Assessment of care and health education needs; Development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient. Under supervision, to gain experience and skills in: Clinical practice; Facilitation and teaching; Management (as appropriate). To take charge of the ward/department/unit in the absence of senior nursing staff following performance review. To adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24-hour period. To maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene, in line with Infection Prevention Control guidance within the clinical environment, minimizing the risk of cross infection.
