The role of an Income Analyst is a blend of operational and project activity: to provide our customers with a reliable and continuously improving payment experience; manage the risk of financial misstatement; and identify blockers and issues, to then build sustainable solutions, working in close partnership with internal teams and IT partners. You Will

Perform the processes and controls to manage our bank accounts, customer payment channels and customer refunds; complete the associated accounting tasks; and support management activities for the allocation and investigation work. Perform routine and ad-hoc analysis activity to monitor, assess, problem solve and improve the processes and controls framework within the Income team scope. Run and develop a suite of control reports; take part in audit and compliance activity, including the forward planning and preparation. Identify improvement opportunities and design solutions in collaboration with process stakeholders; support all project and change activity that impact the Income team scope of responsibility. Actively support the continued phases of embedding and optimization for the new system platform, including stabilisation and continuous improvement. You Have

Experience in the Business Energy Income team advisor role, or external experience in cash & banking processes and controls. Experience of working in a high-volume transaction processing environment, either working with bank statements, managing customer receipts and/or supplier payments. Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve issues and anomalies, or aptitude to develop these. Good general accounting knowledge including an understanding of the important role of reconciliations and double entry bookkeeping. Flexibility and strong communication skills to work effectively across the team, including virtually. This extends to team coaching and training. About SSE
