As an Apprentice Data Analyst (Wastewater Network Modelling), you'll learn how to:
produce plans and schedules using geographic information systems (GIS) to support the modelling team look after the network model library database to ensure the status and location of all models are recorded and managed identify, collect and move data to and from a range of internal and external systems build network models using GIS and modelling tools manage the exchange of data and ensure quality assurance procedures are followed, whilst working with our survey framework contractors manipulate and link different data sets as required perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis
Your apprenticeship will last 24 months, and successful apprentices will achieve a Data Analyst, Level: 4 standard, endorsed by the Institute for Apprenticeships.
We're looking for someone keen to gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, and achieve the standards needed to succeed in this role.
You'll support our network modelling team, working across a variety of projects (e.g., reducing the risk of flooding and overflow activations), providing technical data solutions to a range of stakeholders.
You'll document and report the results of data analysis activities, making recommendations to improve business performance whilst also learning to use network models and how their outputs are used across the business (e.g., helping to understand sewerage system flow rates and water levels).
You'll need to have:
5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades A-C or grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English and a Science or Technology subject. Plus a Level 3 qualification (A-levels, apprenticeship or BTEC etc with 48 UCAS points)

During your apprenticeship, you may need to travel to your place of study. If you're from outside the area, accommodation will be provided by United Utilities during this period (excluding weekends). Please consider travel requirements and staying away from home if applicable.
