Full-time We are seeking a passionate and experienced Behaviour Specialist to join an SEMH school located in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The successful candidate will be dedicated to making a significant impact on the lives of children with complex behavioural needs and to supporting both pupils and staff in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively across the SEMH school, employing your expertise to support the management of high-level behavioural issues. Provide hands-on intervention and support for students displaying challenging behaviours, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in the school. Coach and mentor staff in relational practice, guiding them in positive behaviour management strategies and helping to foster a supportive school culture. Develop and implement Individual Behaviour Plans in collaboration with educational staff and interdisciplinary teams. Use evidence-based practices and positive behaviour support frameworks to promote student engagement and reduce incidents of challenging behaviour. Lead training sessions and workshops for staff to enhance their understanding and skills in managing complex behaviours. Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to behaviour management. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour interventions and make necessary adjustments to ensure continued student progress. Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Relevant experience working with children and young people with behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties within an educational setting. BILD accredited training, or equivalent certification, in positive behaviour support or behaviour analysis. Strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills. Desirables:
Additional qualifications or professional development in special education, child psychology, or behavioural therapy. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
