Aardvark Swift is working with a passionate and innovative studio who are looking for a Senior Network Programmer to join their Programming team.

As a Senior Network Programmer you’ll contribute to the studio’s recently launched million-selling debut title and shape the future of the studio’s online gameplay experience. With online functionality being a core pillar of their game, this role is pivotal to the game’s continued success and evolution.

The studio prides itself on fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone has a voice. Team members come from a variety of backgrounds, including seasoned games industry veterans, graduates, and individuals from other industries, all working together to push boundaries and share knowledge.

This is a hybrid role, with at least one day a month to be worked on-site.

Your responsibilities… Contribute to the planning and development of online features for their current title and future projects. Work across all networking layers, including real-time multiplayer gameplay modes, external service integrations, and backend development. Collaborate with the team to create technical designs for new features in partnership with feature owners. Take ownership of specific features as needed. Set the standard by following and promoting best practices as agreed upon by the team. The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role… Advanced skills in C# and Unity engine. 3 or more years’ experience working on real-time networking in video games, simulation, or related projects. Solid computer science foundation. Familiarity with source control systems such as Git or Perforce. Desire to learn new technologies and refine your programming skills. A proactive, problem-solving mindset that thrives in a small team environment. Effective communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English. Flexibility to visit the South Yorkshire based office at least once a month. Bonus skills… Experience working on PC/console titles. Familiarity with implementing game logic on cloud platforms. Experience of leading/managing developers. Experience working with C++ and Unreal Engine. Willingness to relocate to the South Yorkshire area. Perks and benefits include... Relocation support.
