Design Engineer - MC(phone number removed) A Design Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company based in the Norwich area. This role involves creating custom product solutions using CAD software in both 2D and 3D formats for production at the company's on-site facility. The designs will be developed through close collaboration with clients, following established design standards and procedures. 3D visualizations will be created to support customer proposals and aid in the development of new product lines.

Design Engineer Job Overview Design Development:

Develop custom product designs using 2D and 3D AutoCAD to support quotations and product manufacturing, in line with agreed design guidelines and procedures. Create "works orders" to communicate design and component specifications to production teams and external suppliers. Ensure all product designs and works orders are completed according to the company's design principles and manual. Collaborate with the team to enhance and continuously improve product designs. Create detailed drawings for various products and layout specifications. Customer Interaction:

Handle direct sales tasks based on incoming customer inquiries. Engage directly with customers and suppliers to determine requirements, develop design solutions, and establish specifications, including occasional on-site visits to assess needs first hand. Generate, communicate, and negotiate product quotations using appropriate software, following the procedures outlined in the company handbook and under the guidance of senior staff. Maintain accurate records of customer and supplier inquiries while ensuring high levels of customer service at all times. Design Engineer Job Requirements

Strong knowledge of 3D CAD with a working understanding of AutoCAD 2D. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Solid understanding of design and engineering principles, with the ability to showcase portfolios effectively. Design Engineer Salary & Benefits

Salary dependent on level and experience but likely 25k-35k. Basic hours 9:00am - 6:00pm Mon - Fri lunch 1:00-1:30pm HOLIDAYS: 32 days per annum, including 8 days for public holidays, 3 or 4 days to be taken over Christmas shut-down.
