We are currently looking for a suitably qualified and/or experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our friendly Highways Contracting team in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. The role is based from our Tarmac Boroughbridge Depot and you will be required to travel across the A1(M) D2D contract requirements. The role is easily commutable from Harrogate, York, Leeds, Ripon, North Allerton, Thirsk, Shipley, Sowerby, Knaresborough, Wetherby, Catterick, Boston Spa, Selby, Castleford, Bradford, Wakefield and surrounding areas. As the Quantity Surveyor you will ideally have worked in a similar industry with experience of working on Highways, Infrastructure or Civil Engineering Projects, the focus of this role is on Highways Services. This contract has Tarmac providing the RMS (Road Management Services) for the A1(M) Darrington to Dishforth, we cover the inspection, maintenance, earthworks, motorway communications, winter maintenance along with a host of other associated things as you would imagine to keep the highways safe for all. Other responsibilities for this role will include (not exhaustive): Be an integral member of the commercial team supporting the Managing Quantity Surveyor Build a strong relationship with internal and client counterparts Managing commercial projects from pre-contract stage through to completion Engaging and managing sub-contracts including tender enquiries, award and assessment of monthly payment applications Support the production of monthly CVR's Produce both internal and client forecasts Production and substantiation through to agreement of associated Final Accounts Ensure all Tarmac and client processes are followed to minimise commercial risk Ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection Prepare and submit monthly application for payments to clients Prepare and issue early warning notices and compensation events The Ideal Candidate

As our ideal Quantity Surveyor you will have: Drive and ambition to succeed ESSENTIAL - NEC3/4 experience within our sector Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills Good oral, written communication; and presentation skills with strong numeracy and analytical ability Process driven with strong commercial awareness and good negotiation skills It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Quantity Surveyor is educated to degree level, although other equivalent qualifications minimum HND or QBE (Qualified by Experience) will be accepted.
