We are seeking an experienced and driven Systems Design Engineer to join our team, with a specific focus on Electrical and Electronic Architecture. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and overseeing the development of complex electrical systems that meet customer requirements and align with industry standards. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, managing technical specifications, and supporting testing and integration activities. Requirements

Electrical & Electronic Architecture Ownership: Own the system electrical architecture, including topology design, technical specifications, and the development of equipment. Lead the design and review of electrical system architectures and ensure they meet customer and project requirements. Define and develop the optimum electrical architecture for complex systems, ensuring alignment with functional and safety requirements. Specify the communication and processing architecture to ensure seamless operation and integration of system components. Power Systems Architecture: Design and specify the power systems architecture, including power budgets, power profiles, and load analysis to ensure efficient and reliable system performance. Develop specifications for power supply systems, ensuring that all components meet operational and safety standards. Signal Safety Design: Design the routing of safety-related signals, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and performance standards. Specify safety signal architecture, ensuring robust designs that minimize risks and potential system failures. Subsystem Interface Definitions: Specify and define interface characteristics between subsystems and equipment, ensuring clear, reliable communication and integration across all system components. Work with design authorities to review, challenge, and support technical design decisions to ensure the system's performance and safety requirements are met. Technical Requirements and Standards Compliance: Write and maintain technical requirements for key electrical equipment and the overall system, ensuring they are detailed and clearly defined. Review and adhere to defence and industry standards, ensuring that designs and developments meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. Testing and Fault Investigation: Support testing activities during equipment integration and system qualification to ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements. Lead fault-finding investigations, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively. Guidelines and Process Improvement: Review and author technical guidelines, processes, and best practices to improve system design and integration processes. Ensure that all designs and processes align with industry and company standards. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and testing engineers, to ensure the successful integration of electrical systems. Provide expert support to design teams, ensuring the technical integrity of system architecture and equipment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Essential Skills: Proven experience in electrical architecture design, preferably in complex systems or defence/aerospace industries. Strong understanding of system electrical architecture, including topology, communication, power systems, and signal safety design. Experience writing technical requirements and specifications for electrical systems and equipment. Familiarity with EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening requirements, and experience in supporting test activities. Experience in fault finding, system qualification, and supporting test and integration activities. Knowledge of industry standards, defence regulations, and best practices related to electrical systems. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design teams and stakeholders. Benefits: A genuinely agile and flexible employer. A competitive salary.
