We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer who has extensive Cloud engineering experience in AWS. You should have software development lifecycle experience and knowledge of working with code repositories. Proficiency in Python, CloudFormation, and Terraform is essential. Additionally, experience with data engineering tools like Spark and Airflow, as well as qualifications in secondary cloud environments (Azure or GCP), are highly valued. We will assess key critical skills relevant to your success in this role, including risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and job-specific technical skills. In this role, you will empower yourself to build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems through software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. You'll develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements while ensuring performance and ease of use. Incident management is crucial, so you'll monitor IT infrastructure, identify potential issues, and implement automated tasks to enhance efficiency. You will also be tasked with executing secure configurations to protect our infrastructure against security threats. Collaboration will be key, as you'll work closely with product managers, architects, and other engineers to align with business objectives. Description

This position is based in our Glasgow campus, though our office in Knutsford can be considered. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will advise key stakeholders and manage risks to promote a strong governance agenda. Demonstrating leadership and accountability is vital as you help mitigate risks and strengthen controls. You will also need to understand organizational functions to contribute to our business goals. By creating innovative solutions based on in-depth analysis and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll drive key business objectives. We expect all colleagues to embody the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship, while also demonstrating the Barclays Mindset—to Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
