Cyber Security Engineer Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in City of London Salary: up to £70,000 plus bonus and fantastic benefits Overview Are you passionate about safeguarding digital landscapes and fortifying cyber defences? Do you have experience in designing and implementing security solutions that protect against evolving threats? If so, this leading Fintech is seeking a dynamic Cyber Security Engineer to elevate and mature their cyber security capabilities. This includes the selection, implementation, and management of security tools and technologies focused on detection, prevention, and analysis of security threats. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will assess risk, identify mitigating controls, create and review design artefacts, and support the creation, implementation, and maintenance of a robust cyber security framework in line with the company’s strategy and threats. Individuals who are hands-on with security tools, technically experienced, and capable of making risk-based security decisions are ideal for this position. Your Role As a Cyber Security Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of their security initiatives, responsible for: Collaborating with technology and business teams, acting as the go-to expert for all security-related inquiries and processes. Designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge security solutions tailored to the business needs. Conducting comprehensive design reviews to identify and mitigate potential security threats, employing established security patterns and principles. Leading and enhancing key cybersecurity processes, including vulnerability management, security incident response, and network security. Managing impactful cyber security and risk assessments, delivering insights through detailed documentation, presentations, and design proposals. Contributing to the evolution of their cyber security standards, procedures, and guidelines. Engaging in project initiatives that boost enterprise security capabilities, such as identity and access management and centralised monitoring. What They're Looking For Minimum of 2 years in a security engineer/analyst role with a focus on designing and implementing security solutions. Knowledge of security architecture patterns, design principles, and controls. Technical Proficiency - Familiarity with modern technologies and methodologies, including virtualisation, cloud computing, and serverless deployments. Tools & Technology - Strong skills including Azure, Microsoft Defender, M365, and firewalls. Communication Skills - Ability to effectively communicate complex security topics to non-technical stakeholders, enabling strategic decision-making. Ready to Apply?
