This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and can be located in our London or Pune offices on a hybrid working model.

Role Responsibilities: Establish and manage the controls and risk mitigations to ensure Springer Nature's compliance with legislation such as Modern Slavery Act, German Supply Chain Act, CSRD data collection, data validated and risk management regarding supply chain compliance. Collect and validate data in good time for internal and external reports. Regular exposure to group senior management via the Business Partner Steering Committee. Design and deliver training for Regional Risk and Compliance Officers. Design e-learning for all-staff regarding our supply chain compliance strategy. Primary responsibility for data validation on Springer Nature's due diligence platform (SNICS). Use SNICS and supplier audit data to measure the company's progress against external reporting requirements. Primary contact for all Risk, Audit and Assurance activity regarding supply chain compliance - including our external and internal audit teams. Manage the annual supplier audit program and attend supplier audits as necessary. Management of multiple stakeholders, developing sustainable, long-lasting relationships across all areas of the internal business and our supply chain. Stay informed about upcoming laws and regulations relating to supply chain and sustainability to ensure that Springer Nature's supplier risk management process complies with legal and regulatory requirements.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential Strong written, verbal and presenting communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues to non-specialists. Good analytical skills including the ability to identify trends quickly. Strategic mindset enabling identification and remediation of any issues. Ability to learn new tools and techniques quickly with an appetite to stay up to date and adapt to new technologies. Knowledgeable of global trends related to supply chain sustainability and supplier engagements. Strong demonstrable audit experience. Global compliance experience in supplier management. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a complex, cross functional organisation and leading cross function project teams.

Desirable Sustainability reporting experience.
