We are looking for a Consultant Oncologist (Medical or Clinical) with an interest in Breast to join a cohesive and committed team. This is an exciting time for Velindre University NHS Trust with a brand-new cancer centre in construction in Cardiff and the development of a Cancer Research and complex oncology Hub in close collaboration with University Hospital of Wales and Cardiff University. In addition, we have a regional outreach programme including a Radiotherapy Satellite Centre in Aneurin Bevan UHB (Nevill Hall Hospital) opening in Spring 2025. When complete, the new Velindre Cancer Centre will be a world class facility which provides specialist tertiary oncology services to patients across Southeast Wales. It will also be an exemplar healthcare facility which demonstrates what patient led, sustainable design can achieve; with an all-electric solution supporting the achievement of BREEAM excellent. The post holder will have an opportunity to collaborate with existing research projects and lead future research, service development and educational initiatives, supported by the SST. The post holder will support the Cwm Taff Morgannwg University Health Board and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board as a core member of the MDT, covering the management of cancer patients from MDT referral through to treatment.
