(our registered Charity, for FISY as we call it!) to build partnerships, engage stakeholders, and raise awareness of the products and services available to households in our local communities. Ideally you will have: A passion to help the financially underserved and excluded citizens of the Sheffield City Region and educate members on their journey to financial well-being. Commitment to the not-for-profit, co-operative sector. Strong organizational and communication skills. Several years' experience in relationship development up to board level. Experience in a regulated environment (preferably Financial Services). Proficient in managing social media, media relationships, and lead generation. Knowledge and passion for helping local communities. Credit Union experience would be desirable. Understanding of issues concerning the financially excluded and unbanked families of our region. Knowledge of local charity and government support for low-income families. Experience with grant funding applications and tender writing processes would be desirable. Responsibilities: Recruit, train and develop a team of part-time Community Ambassadors to work with community groups in specific postcode areas of Sheffield. Along with your team of Ambassadors, you will proactively represent the credit union in local networks and organizations, securing presentation opportunities. Deliver engaging presentations in corporate and community settings. Network and gather community insights for business development strategy. Build relationships, both independently and within a team. Travel within South Yorkshire and beyond. Support local business and community initiatives to increase membership. Requirements: Business development experience, preferably in community development. Affinity with Sheffield and South Yorkshire, with a professional network. Strong relationship-building and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel within South Yorkshire. Some knowledge of FCA products and regulation. Experience with grant funding applications and tender writing processes would be desirable. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support Community Ambassadors, recruiting where necessary. Provide guidance and support to individual Ambassadors, ensuring alignment with the credit union's vision. Contribute to the development of new savings and loan products. Assist with marketing plans and representation at events. Manage data and update records for reporting purposes. Consult with members in specific communities. Key Relationships: CEO, SMT, and Marketing Specialist collaboration. Sheffield Credit Union colleagues to improve and streamline processes and align policies. The Sheffield City Region's network of community hubs, charities, foodbanks, social enterprises, etc. This important role is an employed, salaried position initially requiring a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week. Home, office or hybrid. However, as one of our key strategic pillars, our commitment to growing our presence in the local community may require expanding the role into a full-time opportunity when our ambitions become reality.
