Head of Warehouse Solutions Design

Job Overview: To lead and develop a recently established warehouse solution design team and play an integral role in the end-to-end sales process for new warehouse opportunities within both dedicated and shared user environments. Provide expertise in warehouse solution design, costing, and implementation and support the development of both your own team and the wider commercial team. Support the creation of the overall solution narrative and customer proposition. What you’ll do on a typical day: Leading and developing a small, growing team of warehouse solution design managers Overseeing the solution design process for projects across the solution design team Being the solution design lead on your own discrete projects, including resource modelling, layout planning, liaising with external suppliers, and cost model creation Being a ‘go-to’ expert for warehouse solutions and operations Developing and rolling out new processes to bring efficiencies to the solution design process Supporting the creation and development of the overall commercial proposition including both operational and non-operational elements, e.g., facility requirements, sustainability, etc. Understanding what is important to target customers and ensuring solutions developed meet these requirements Participating in the creation and writing of customer proposals and presentations Managing and developing key tools used within the solution design process What you need to succeed at XPO: Essential:
Experience in solution design within a 3PL environment for both dedicated and shared-user warehouse operations including manual and automated environments Essential:
Experience working with customers for both new and existing projects to define and capture requirements and develop solutions to meet them Essential:
Development and management of teams and individuals to support them in delivering personal and organisational goals Essential:
Experience in developing and creating processes and structures that deliver meaningful change and drive both efficiency and productivity Essential:
Skilled in warehouse layout and resource design and modelling Essential:
Use of computer-aided design tools such as AutoCAD and SketchUp or similar Essential:
High degree of analytical capability and commercial acumen Essential:
