IT Device Deployment Engineer

for a minimum 6-month period. This role will require onsite attendance in Edinburgh. You will receive a

daily rate of up to 190 a day

and the contract will see you

INSIDE IR35 . You will coordinate and deliver initiatives related to hardware refresh of end user computer devices within the organisation. The organisation's ambition is to have enduring IT teams aligned to these business domains ensuring that ownership of software products is clear. Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate the initiative to refresh 650 laptops through the full cycle from build through kit swap, user handholding, to asset return and disposal. Detect and report discrepancies, shortages, or damage promptly. Address inventory challenges (e.g., locating misplaced items and dealing with any shortages). Provide post-deployment support to users who have had their laptop refreshed to resolve problems. Update asset handling SOPs to optimise asset flow and ensure data accuracy. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems and appropriate software. Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. Coordinate effectively with other departments and service/product owners - procurement, ServiceDesk and OPs, Employee enablement product owner. Qualifications: Utilising the Service Now Platform for task and asset management. Deploying Windows 11 devices in a corporate government environment. Laptop build and application deployment using Intune and SCCM. Microsoft Office 365 suite. Experience with HP EliteBook laptops. PAT testing experience and certification. Hardware inventory management experience of End User IT equipment. Experience creating rollout and asset management plans including technical design, logistics, governance and risk considerations, and training requirements. ITIL(R) Foundation Certification in IT Service Management. Knowledge and experience of VFQ/Agile techniques including Kanban. Deploying Ubuntu Linux to laptops utilising Landscape.
