As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, a senior technical role with CT you will work in the infrastructure team to deliver solutions built on CT’s cloud infrastructure such as virtual private servers, remote backup, connectivity, web hosting and hosted voice as well as support CT’s internal IT infrastructure. Key duties and responsibilities:

Work to and make recommendations to the Cloud Services roadmap. Attend weekly Cloud Services leadership meetings. Maintain a high level of product knowledge to make product and service recommendations from product testing. Provide high level technical support and advice to the operations and support teams when required. Own one of our key cloud services platforms to provide leadership on driving improvements and efficiencies. Deployment of new solutions and core infrastructure upgrades (including planning, testing and deployment). Maintain and monitor existing hardware (including core routers, switches, voice servers, virtualisation environments, SANs). Capacity and lifecycle planning for devices and software. Focus on continuous security improvements. Respond promptly and appropriately to incident alerts and prepare reports as required. Creating and approving infrastructure change requests. Ensure compliance with license requirements and usage. Design and implementation of new bespoke services and solutions. To be part of an out of hours rota. Work to Central Technology’s ISO 27001 and 9001 quality processes and procedures. Maintain good working relationships with all service providers and vendors. Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends. Work cross-department to ensure the technical needs of our customers are met. Keep up to date of the latest technology developments and understand how these could benefit our customers. Communicate clearly and professionally with customer staff at all levels of technical knowledge and authority. Achieve company objectives and individual targets. Manage your own workload effectively. Skills and abilities:

Proven experience in a similar senior technical role. Previous experience in a customer facing role is essential. Strong multi-vendor networking, Infrastructure, cloud, server and platform knowledge. Proven track record of planning and implementing projects. Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks. Building relationships through direct and indirect management. Previous experience in analysing new services, technology and applications while delivering recommendations to improve/introduce into the product catalogue. Working with multiple systems to create efficient, end to end processes. A strong understanding and adherence to business processes and functions. Prior experience within a technical service provider is essential. Knowledge and experience:

Strong leadership skills. Experience working within the IT Industry and previous experience within an IT & Telecoms MSP at a senior level. Strong multi-vendor networking, Infrastructure, cloud, server and platform knowledge. Proven track record of planning and implementing server migration projects.
