Platform Design Architect
to lead the vision, strategy, and design for a newly developed strategic platform that will underpin their growth, support a new operating model, and provide cutting-edge capabilities to both their customers and colleagues. About the Role: As Platform Design Architect, you will be at the heart of this significant transformation, responsible for defining and shaping the platform vision, designing features and functions, and prioritising the delivery roadmap. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure the platform aligns with business priorities while providing thought leadership to guide the design of a new, future-focused platform. This is a senior, influential role, offering the chance to make a substantial impact on a key strategic initiative. You will manage the risk and scope of the platform's design in conjunction with third-party partners and work closely with business and technical architects to deliver a platform that drives exceptional growth and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Define and communicate the platform vision, collaborating closely with business stakeholders. Prioritise the development of features in alignment with business objectives, balancing short-term goals with long-term strategy. Work with change management teams to embed features into the transformation roadmap. Collaborate with third-party partners to understand their roadmap and explore opportunities to leverage their functionality for our own needs. Lead the decommissioning of legacy platform technologies, driving the development of a modern, efficient solution. Champion the solution validation process to ensure the platform meets both technical and business requirements. Manage the platform's design risks, ensuring all solutions are properly scoped and validated. Provide leadership and direction to functional owners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality platform features. Support due diligence for future acquisitions and integrations with the strategic platform. About You: You are an expert in wealth management platforms with substantial experience leading platform design and transformations. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, you are a strategic visionary who turns complex challenges into clear, actionable plans. Your deep understanding of platform releases, third-party integrations, risk management, and organisational change makes you an invaluable leader in this transformation process. Your peers recognise you as someone who can translate business needs into commercially viable solutions and deliver them with precision. You are a collaborative leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels. Key Skills & Experience: Extensive experience in wealth management platforms, with a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations (FCA, PRA, etc.). Proven track record in leading platform design for large-scale transformations, particularly with third-party platform providers. Expertise in managing risk and ensuring complex technology implementations are executed seamlessly. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights for different audiences. Collaborative approach with experience in driving solutions through influence and effective stakeholder management. High-level management skills, with a focus on team capability and delivery.
