Designer and manufacturer of cutting edge electro-mechanical sub systems that are used in high reliability applications across the space, aerospace, defence and oil & gas sectors are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Information about what the Mechanical Design Engineer role entails This mechanical design role encompasses the full design lifecycle from requirements to prototype to production, working on cutting edge, customer-facing projects covering RF and optical systems for defence, aerospace, and industrial clients. You will run thermal simulations and design enclosures for PCBs and complex electronics to ensure effective heat dissipation. Essential Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer Mechanical design / mechanical engineering / technical science related qualification Mechanical design of electronics / electromechanical packaging / casing / enclosures Ability to take PCB designs and run thermal simulations and design cold plates Good thermal analysis / thermal simulation experience Understanding of thermal modelling Able to secure SC security clearance Willing to be on site in the office for 3 days per week Desirable Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer 2D & 3D CAD skills with Creo; Solid Works, Solid Edge, or Inventor are also acceptable Aerospace or Defence industry experience Experience in analysis for stress and vibration, able to use tools to analyse the effects of weight on chassis, etc. Design experience with Aluminium Benefits 9 Day working fortnight Hybrid working with flexible start / finish times 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays Private Healthcare Salary exchanged pension scheme with enhanced company contributions Life assurance Employee assistance programme with free access to confidential counselling services Paid compassionate leave and generous company sick pay entitlement + others If you feel you are suitable and interested in this role, APPLY NOW with an up-to-date CV.
