To deliver and collect clinical & non-clinical items, including post, beds, trolleys, wheelchairs, medical gases, pathology specimens, laundry, waste, furniture; responding to any ad-hoc requests and ensuring procedures are followed. To convey deceased patients to the mortuary and to do so in a dignified manner, using the appropriate equipment, also on request to place deceased patients within the viewing room (this will include viewings for babies and young children) in accordance with procedures, and return to the storage area on request. They are the first point of contact for the undertakers out of hours. To work to the roster prepared by the Portering Manager covering 24 hours a day, 7 days per week including bank holidays. To undertake job tasks via the handheld Trust system in a timely and efficient manner. Person Specification

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 Support Services or good level of general education & equivalent level of working experience. Knowledge

Knowledge of good health and safety practice. Knowledge of data protection. Experience

Experience of working as part of a team. Proven experience working in health service or caring/customer-facing environment. Skills

Basic IT Skills. The ability to navigate the portering database. Good communication Skills. Values Based Question

Full UK Driving Licence or in process of undertaking testing. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
