Cambridge SU is looking for a new Chief Executive to help us represent students, drive change, and strengthen the student voice at the University of Cambridge. Applications for this role close at 9 a.m. Monday 24th February. Cambridge SU was formed in 2020 from the merger of Cambridge University Students’ Union and Cambridge Graduate Union. It is the representative body for all students at the University of Cambridge and its constituent Colleges. Cambridge SU is a registered charity dedicated to representing, campaigning for, and supporting students at the University. We achieve this through high-quality tools, skills, strategies, knowledge, and development opportunities for students to shape their education and experiences. As a newly formed charity supporting a historic University, we have been committed to supporting all students following our merger, but we recognize there are ways we can be more effective. To prepare for our next strategy, we recently conducted a governance review to determine a more suitable structure. Our new Chief Executive will join as we begin our next strategic phase. This is a transformative time for us, as we believe there is much we can do to improve our governance and strengthen the SU. As a growing charity, we also believe there is more we could do to enhance and refresh our internal processes, culture, and stakeholder relationships. We are aware that forthcoming changes for us and the wider higher education sector are significant. At this pivotal time, we need an experienced leader to work alongside our elected student officers and help guide us through the change process we need to undertake in our next strategic cycle. Experience of operating at a leadership level in a comparable charity and of leading change and organizational enhancement are essential, as is significant experience of managing complex stakeholder relations.
