We are ambitious That's why we’re keen to hear from determined and motivated people like you to help us deliver on our promises. Due to our business expansion, we are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. Our Senior Estimators work on civil engineering tenders, developing precise and competitive estimates for projects involving roads, sewers, drainage, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures. Here are some of the activities you will be involved with: Review tender requirements, focusing on scope of works, attending site visits and collaborating with the Bid and Operational Support Teams, coordinating with the Estimating Buyer on material costs and subcontractor quotes. Support the Apprentice Estimators in preparing and comparing detailed subcontractor pricing packages. Submit technical queries to clients for tender clarity and review client pricing schedules to ensure alignment with scope. Conduct take-offs as needed for Bill of Quantities or Activity Schedules. Prepare estimates for in-house work and assess subcontractor quotes for specialist tasks. Draft bid assumptions, qualifications, and exclusions and identify project risks, compile risk register, and review utility and geotechnical data. Finalise and include pricing documents (e.g., Schedule of Costs, Daywork Rates). Attend post-tender meetings, respond to pricing queries, and track submission updates. Prepare pricing handover file and brief Operations Team on tender details. We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate: Expertise in civil engineering projects, with a focus on Clancy self-delivery works such as earthworks, roadworks, kerbing, footpaths, sewers, drainage, pipeline construction, and utility installations. Proficiency in Excel and experience using pricing software such as Conquest, Causeway, Candy, or similar. Familiarity with key contract terms and conditions, including NEC 4 and JCT ICE, as well as an understanding of measurement methods, particularly regarding rate inclusions. What Next You apply, and we respond within two weeks (we know how annoying it is not to hear anything back)! If you don't receive feedback within that timescale, please don't be afraid to chase us - one of our values is to do what we say we will do! Benefits In addition to helping you reach your career goals, a competitive salary, pension, healthcare and holiday allowance starting at 24-26 days per annum, we also offer perks including Clancy Xtras, our employee benefits programme with discounts for numerous well-known retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Currys PC World and Vue Cinemas, cycle to work scheme as well as an Employee Assistance Programme. Clancy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees. If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made for you to attend an interview, please do let us know and we will be happy to accommodate. We are proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and Disability Confident Committed.
