2 x Mechanical Engineers are required to join a market-leading Innovative Industrial and Off-Road Systems Company that is nearly 100 years old and is a leading UK supplier with significant growth expectations. This is an exceptional time to join the organisation. The Mechanical Engineers will report to the Chief Mechanical Engineer.
The Mechanical Engineers will be part of a small but growing team, working on designs for Industrial Systems and related off-road products for the rail and mining sector. The products and size of platforms range depending on project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery, or hybrid technologies. This opportunity allows you to join a team that works closely with all employees, including the Directors, Chief Engineers, and support personnel.
Mechanical Engineers - Essential Criteria
Degree or HND in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Mechanical or Product Design Engineering Experience within an engineering and product design environment Ability to work in a team of engineers Ability to liaise with electrical engineers and other departments Commutable to the South Derby area
Mechanical Engineers - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required
To mechanically design products in 3D, including 2D detail production drawings Update existing designs, in conjunction with the electrical design engineers Support the technical author as required Able to work with an ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar) Able to work with associated Bills of Materials Skilled with 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor or similar) Skilled with hand calculations and FEA Design experience Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and large fabrications Experience with low volume product design Able to support production with technical enquiries Preferred Industrial, Rail, or Off-Road product design experience
Hours and Holidays
37 hours/week Some Flexitime working available if needed 7.30 - 16.00 Mon to Thurs 7.30 - 12.30 Fri 25 days + 8 statutory holidays
Other and Benefits - After successful 3-month probationary period
Pension 4% employer contribution (+ 4% employee contribution) Death in Service equal to 4 x salary Bonus scheme dependent on company performance (Non-Contractual) Flexible working scheme Healthcare Group Scheme membership
