A dynamic and forward-thinking company based in Newcastle, seeking an experienced Interim Corporate Accountant to join the team for around a 6-month period. This is an organisation which prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, where every team member can thrive.

Your new role The key responsibilities within this role will be to oversee all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards, preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management. You will lead the audit preparation process, liaising with external auditors as required. Additionally, you will supervise and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment. With a demonstrable track record in ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, you will also have the ability to implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed: With proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a large organisation, excellent knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards and well-honed analytical and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. As well as this, you will demonstrate leadership and team management skills, proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, and be a qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
