A leading global investment firm specialising in quantitative and systematic trading is seeking a Linux Production engineer to join its growing technology team. This firm operates across multiple assets classes and leverages cutting-edge research, data, and technology to drive high-performance trading strategies. Your Role: As part of the global infrastructure support team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the firm's Linux-based trading and research platforms. You will work closely with end users, application teams, and engineers to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of the on-premises Linux environment. In addition to day-to-day operational support, the role involves project-based work, including new deployments, system upgrades, automation, and monitoring improvements. Key Responsibilities: Maintain, administer, and enhance a high-performance Linux estate Support the trading and research infrastructure, ensuring high availability Implement automation and monitoring solutions to streamline operations Collaborate with engineering teams to document and refine processes Participate in an on-call rota for critical system support (typically remote) Required Skills & Experience: Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration Proficiency in RedHat and CentOS distributions Experience with end-to-end server deployments Familiarity with AMD/Intel hardware and troubleshooting physical components Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to root-cause analysis Good communication and teamwork skills Passion for technology and continuous learning Understanding of network protocols (TCP, UDP) and server network stacks Experience with automation tools such as Ansible is a plus Knowledge of NFS/SAN systems is beneficial but not essential This firm is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, supporting employees in achieving both professional excellence and a healthy work-life balance.
