Support the delivery of the PSTN and PDQ migration programme across retail partner stores in the UK & NI. Assist with store IT provisioning and install patch leads as needed. Set up ISP-supplied routers and install unmanaged network switches, connecting cables between the switch and peripherals. Install small mounting cradles on counters and route cables through countertops into network switches. Handle the installation of card machines (PDQ) and related connections. Act as a point of contact for BT Openreach appointments and advise on the necessary completion of their works. Liaise with partners regarding ongoing in-building connectivity for Openreach. Attend weekly progress calls to highlight any issues or concerns to the business. Support and implement any additional facilities-related tasks required by the business. Provide solutions to challenges that may arise in related tasks. Manage travel expenses per company policy, including mileage, overnight accommodations, and flights where applicable. Qualifications
Experience working with telecoms, specifically 1308 copper cabling and DP’s. Proficiency in working with Cat5 structured cabling and patching. Knowledge of SOGEA and FTTP circuits and their termination. Understanding of basic internet router installation and configuration. Familiarity with basic Voice Over IP telephone connectivity. Ability to test internet connectivity via an ISP network router. General understanding of card payment machine connectivity (PDQ’s). Awareness of business practices, products, and services. Excellent understanding of business policies, procedures, and processes. Strong operational excellence, including administration and attention to detail, with experience managing multiple tasks. Proficient communication skills in English. Experience managing third-party suppliers; project management experience is a plus. A full UK Car Driving License. Additional Information
Establish and maintain effective relationships with all functions that support the Geographic Trading Area to ensure efficient and cohesive ways of working, including Telecoms, EUC, Partner Facilities, Internal Facilities, and Internal Operations. Flexibility for routine travel is essential, as this role requires extensive travel within Mainland UK and Northern Ireland, frequently necessitating overnight stays. Excellent influencing and communication skills, coupled with a high level of personal confidence and self-sufficiency, are required.
