YOUR ROLE The BI, Data & Analytics Lead will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our business intelligence (BI) product strategy, roadmap, and feature definition. The role specializes in the design and implementation of data architecture within cloud environments. This role involves leading a team of data architects, data engineers, data scientists, and BI Developers, collaborating with other teams, staying updated with cloud technologies and trends, ensuring compliance with regulations, and strategic planning for the organization's cloud data architecture. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, and all business departments to deliver quality BI products and drive business growth. Your duties encompass crafting, evolving, and releasing data products along with features that improve efficiency in shipping and logistics, bringing value to our in-house customers within this region. Collaboration is key, as you will join forces with interdisciplinary teams — such as engineering, design, tech, support, operations, sales, and more — to introduce data-driven solutions that address tangible problems, elevating operational efficacy and enhancing customer contentment. Your responsibilities include detailing and sequencing product imperatives, formulating user stories, alongside managing both the product backlog and strategic roadmap. Effective communication of the unique benefits to our internal stakeholders is also part of your role. You'll work cooperatively to secure agreement and endorsement. Critical skills required for this role include strong technical expertise in cloud data management, excellent leadership, and effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. A comprehensive understanding of various cloud platforms like AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, and their respective data services is also crucial for this role. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Leading a team of Developers, architects, engineers, scientists: This includes providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and overseeing their work to ensure it aligns with the overall cloud data strategy. Designing and implementing complex data architectures: This involves creating blueprints for data management systems, selecting appropriate databases and data processing tools, and ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of data systems. Collaborating with other teams: You must work closely with data engineers, data scientists, IT professionals, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and ensure that the data architecture supports them. Staying updated with industry trends: It is crucial to stay abreast of the latest developments in data management technologies and methodologies to make informed decisions about data architecture. Ensuring compliance: You must ensure that all data systems comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Strategic planning: A key part of the role is developing and implementing a long-term vision for the organization's data architecture. WHAT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO WE REQUIRE? Extensive experience in Product/Project management, with a focus on business intelligence, data analytics, or related field. Technical Expertise: You should have a deep understanding of database systems, data modeling, data mining, and data warehousing and be proficient in SQL, Python, and other programming languages. Data Architecture: You should be familiar with designing, creating, deploying, and managing an organization's data architecture. Understanding how to manage large volumes of data, both structured and unstructured, is crucial. Cloud Platforms: Understanding cloud platforms like Snowflake, AWS, and Azure can be very beneficial. Data Governance: This involves overseeing the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data. Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling Technology Projects or BI / analytical projects. Experience working in agile development environments and using product/project management tools (e.g., Jira, Hive, etc.). Strategic Planning: You should be able to develop a long-term strategic plan for data management. Leadership Skills: A lead should be able to guide a team of data architects, engineers, scientists, developers. Problem-Solving Skills: You should be able to identify potential issues in the data architecture, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions. Adaptability: You should be able to keep up with the latest trends and advancements in data architecture. Understanding of Business Operations: You should have a good understanding of the organization's business operations. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or STEM field or equivalent level of experience, with an MBA/relevant Masters degree being advantageous.
