Please note that salary will be pro-rated for part-time hours. This position is temporary. The Early Years Housekeeper will have a crucial role in supporting the early years staff in the serving of lunches to the children, as well as ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleaning is maintained. The successful candidate will have a key role in interacting with children to facilitate the lunchtime experiences in the centre, encourage trying of new foods and ensure safe hygiene practices are adhered to. The Housekeeper will work within Milngavie Early Years Centre, Monday to Friday, 11am to 2pm each day. The successful candidate will be a valued member of the nursery staff and community. Candidates should have experience of safe food preparation and hygiene practices and knowledge of nutritional guidance and food standards for childcare services. REHIS and First Aid certificates would be advantageous. An understanding of early years development and additional support needs is desirable. Candidates should be enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work on their own and as part of a team, and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
