They have a vacancy for an Applications Engineer looking to step up into a Technical Lead Role. As the Technical Manager, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of a skilled team of Design and Applications Engineers and provide line management and support to the Workshop Manager. You will be heavily involved with quotations, progress sales, and prepare reports liaising with both external sales and technical teams. You will be expected to develop and manage a production planning system for your own events and others in your team, requiring a good understanding of computer systems in a fast-moving Technical and Workshop Environment. Due to the technical nature of the projects, you will ideally have a formal engineering qualification and a good understanding of Hydraulic Systems such as Power Packs, Cylinders, Pumps, Valves, Actuators, etc. We welcome applications from those in a more junior technical role looking to step up to a management role, as well as those experienced in leading teams. A good technical foundation is key, and candidates with a hands-on or apprenticeship background are particularly appealing. The Job: Technical Manager/Technical Operations Manager Manage a team of Technical Design and Applications Engineers Take enquiries for and deliver technical projects Understand enquiries and provide rapid pricing Develop and manage a production schedule ensuring prompt project delivery in line with deadlines Control all Technical, Engineering, Workshop, and Service aspects of projects where applicable Work with external and internal customers The Person: Experienced technical person in a similar role or in a Design/Applications Engineering role looking to step up Excellent mechanical engineering knowledge Understanding of hydraulic systems Excellent communication skills Good understanding of computer systems This is an excellent opportunity for someone to come into a new and high-paced role where they can add real day-to-day value to the business.
