About The Role Are you passionate about shaping the future of offshore wind farm development in Scotland and beyond? Are you a seasoned environmental consultant with a background in handling consent applications for marine infrastructure projects? APEM Group are looking for Principal Consultants to join our growing Major Projects team, working on some of the largest development projects in the UK energy sector, including several ScotWind and INTOG projects. As a Principal Consultant, you will oversee the management and delivery of consent related workstreams for complex developments in the marine environment, including delivery of EIA/HRA and/or post-consent compliance. Acting as a focal point and trusted advisor, you will build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, providing advice on key consenting risks, and working alongside technical teams to manage or mitigate these risks. You will manage internal and subcontractor teams, reviewing work and acting as a mentor to support the development of more junior team members, and ensuring an effective and highly engaged team. You will also oversee financial and program management of your projects, including project administration and reporting. Alongside this, you will assist with the production of proposals and tenders, leading on client and stakeholder engagement. As you develop in this role, you will build on your existing experience of all aspects of the consenting process and play a major part in the development of complex offshore projects, as well as further developing your ability as a leader and mentor. Working alongside Project Directors, you will help to drive forward strategic conversations, shaping the future project portfolio. You will become an experienced advisor in the EIA market, maintaining strong relationships with clients, and working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team to promote innovation and continuous improvement in this exciting and evolving sector. We are open to both remote working or hybrid working if close to one of our offices around the UK, whichever you prefer. You will have: A degree (preferably MSc), in a relevant Offshore/Marine science discipline. Significant practical experience of delivering marine EIAs, demonstrating a breadth and depth of knowledge. An established track record of providing technical assessments, EIA and/or HRA for major offshore infrastructure development projects in the UK (in offshore renewables or other marine development sector). Significant experience of project management. Experience of post-consent project delivery would be beneficial, as well as experience within the planning process in the UK/Ireland/Scotland, and with statutory regulators and stakeholders.
