Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Team! Based in our Biggin Hill office during Race Events, travelling will be required, to ensure Formula 1’s IT Operational Systems are correctly commissioned, maintained and operated so that it continues to meet Formula 1’s on-going Business and Production objectives. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will: Commission and maintain the operational IT infrastructure at both remote and fixed sites to facilitate F1 Race Events and Official Test Sessions. Commission and maintain any test and development systems, upgrades, and services that support the operational IT systems and services from development through staging then production Be responsible for IT operational systems and intervene where and when required. This includes taking ownership of escalated incidents, ensuring root causes are found, resolved and documented. Liaise with equipment and software vendors to specify maintenance contracts and SLAs, and internal/external project teams to meet Formula 1’s objectives for the operational systems. Assist with reports/statistics, documenting systems, emergency staff planning/provisioning and budget preparation (including documentation and information for justification rationale) Provide and maintain an adequate disaster recovery/business continuity plan for the operational systems and a secure IT operating environment Provide user support and guidance as necessary within the organisation and be available to work on systems outside of usual ‘Business Hours’, both planned and unplanned. Work at the Biggin Hill office during Race Events and travel to events when required Rig/de-rig and commission the IT operational Systems at Race Events. Ability to hold ‘Known Consignor’ certification for packing of freight Essential Skills & Technical Areas of Responsibilities Microsoft Windows Server 19/22/25, Windows 10/11 VMware v8 Microsoft Active Directory including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, CA etc. Microsoft Defender and Backup solutions such as Veeam Microsoft SQL Server administration Linux O/S; Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Photon etc. Server and Desktop hardware and peripherals Data Storage, Data Transfer and Virtual Tape Libraries.
