Test Rig Build Manager Sheffield - Long-Term Outside IR35 Contract - Up to £65 per hour

Ford & Stanley Interim are seeking an experienced Test Rig Build Manager to take full ownership of the build and delivery of a complex test rig as part of a large-scale engineering upgrade project.

This critical role involves:

Overseeing the construction and assembly of 72 control panels to replicate the final system that will be commissioned onsite once its functionality has been demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the entire build process for the test rig, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Oversee the construction and assembly of 72 control panels, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure the build aligns with functional requirements. Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities to demonstrate functionality before onsite deployment. Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations throughout the build and FAT process. Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management.

Essential Criteria: Proven experience in build management and delivery within industrial or engineering projects. Hands-on expertise in overseeing the construction and testing of complex control systems. Strong understanding of control panels, electrical systems, and commissioning processes. Ability to coordinate factory acceptance testing activities (FAT). Candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance (or hold existing clearance).

Preferred Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. Prior experience in large-scale industrial upgrade projects. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for FAT and commissioning processes.
