Eastlight Community Homes is seeking two experienced and visionary individuals to join our

Board

and

Committees

on a basis of

36 days per year. Ideal candidates will be passionate about co-design, the importance of resident voice and enhancing how we operate within an ever-evolving financial and regulatory landscape. Ideally, they will also have significant knowledge of the challenges facing the social housing sector and our diverse residents to help shape our strategies and forward direction to deliver the kinds of high-quality homes and services our residents need now and in the future. With a G1 V1 governance and financial viability rating, we are delivering on our ambitious Corporate Strategy 2024-2027 – our forward vision, co-designed with residents. To realise our plans, we seek

two non-executive leaders

who share our purpose and embody our values of ambition, inclusivity and accountability, both in their work and in their behaviour. They will be eager to join an innovative and diverse organisation with a solid financial foundation and clear vision for housing across Essex and the East. We are looking to strengthen the knowledge and skills on our committees ahead of planned retirements of both Members and Committee Chairs. Ideally, we are looking to appoint the successful candidates either to Governance and People Committee or to Audit and Risk Committee. Specific skills for those two Committees are noted below, and full details of the broader skills and experience we are hoping to strengthen as in the job pack. Specific Audit and Risk Committee Member skills and experience

Essential Qualified accountant Desirable Treasury experience would be an advantage Internal or external audit experience Specific Governance and People Committee Member skills and experience

Essential Strong experience working within governance or people teams within social housing or the third sector Desirable Leading or supporting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, knowing how to fix unfairness in different situations Experience of working in a highly regulated sector If you have the relevant skills, knowledge and experience, then we would love to hear from you.
