be currently studying at University and undertaking a one year industrial placement as part of your course. You must be returning to University in September 2026. The Operational Risk Team Assistant will support the Risk Assurance Team to deliver the risk monitoring plan in Arbuthnot Latham. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of risk management in a second line function through the administration and maintenance of business requirements within the risk management system. In addition to this, there will be a large focus on reporting of risk management information to various governance committees within the organisation. The role holder will also work closely with the first line businesses to provide support on managing risk events, policy management, and have the opportunity to learn about the assurance activities that are carried out by the team. Key Responsibilities: Day-to-day responsibility for the administration of the risk management system, Xactium, with opportunity to grow into system subject matter expert and provide training to business users. Responsible for inputting of key risks, controls and relevant control testing into the risk management system to maintain framework accuracy. Reporting of key operational risk metrics from Xactium tool such as risk events, and operational losses. Supporting with the compilation of reporting packs for the Board, executive risk committees and sub risk committees. Opportunity to liaise with stakeholders across the business to provide support on risk queries. Build relationships with key stakeholders across the business to support the embedding of the risk management framework. Providing administrative support to the business in the management and approval of all Bank policies. Risk: Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures. Key Interfaces: Team members and managers within Chief Risk Office (Risk, Compliance, Credit). Risk champions across the business; Functions, front office, COO. Person Specification Knowledge / Experience: Understanding or interest in risk management within a banking/finance business. Currently studying business management/risk management or study relating to reporting and analytics desirable. Enthusiasm and an ability to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach. Strong organisational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to deal with a range of stakeholders. An analytical mind and an excellent eye for detail with a methodical approach. Strong numeracy skills will be an advantage. Team player, supporting both your colleagues and managers in delivering new projects and supporting existing systems. Self-motivated and driven to learn and develop skills. Qualifications: Studying towards a degree level education.
