Location: Bridgwater Duration: CED 31/12/2025 Rolling 12 months thereafter Role Overview The Pressure Compliance Lead BOP Manufacturer will report to the MEH Pressure Compliance Team Leader and will take responsibility for managing the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements on the BOP scope, ensuring appropriate implementation and compliance to meet HPC project needs. The role will require good technical and organisational capabilities to effectively interface with Project Managers and relevant stakeholders in the programme, the ONR, third party organisations and support the supply chain in delivery. Their team and role will act as the single point of contact for pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements - through all phases of the project and for the various project policies, for their allocated scope. The role will require frequent trips abroad (mostly mainland Europe). Key Responsibilities Principal Accountabilities (Outputs of the Job - Activities & Decisions) Support the development and maintenance of the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements for their appointed work scope. Ensure that project policies, processes and contracts are implemented and delivered to the right quality to manage pressure systems regulation and structural integrity safety case requirements. Responsible for arbitration and technical decisions on HPC's behalf in regards to pressure systems regulation and structural integrity compliance for their programme. Manage on behalf of the Programme Pressure Compliance Team Leader the pressure systems compliance and structural integrity requirements. Maintain personnel SQEP status to support nuclear baseline requirements. Organise the delivery of the technical files by the different stakeholders in line with Pressure Regulations. Coordinate the surveillance by the appointed Third Party. Keep track and expedite resolution of open points. Prepare declaration of conformity in line with Pressure Regulations. Dimensions Ensuring delivery by third parties on behalf of the project. Develop strong working relationships within HPC, regulators and the supply chain. Be able to credibly advise projects and programmes on technical requirements and act as the technical decision maker in regards to pressure systems compliance and structural integrity activities as per their delegation of authority; escalating as necessary through the Pressure Compliance Organisation. Have the credibility to engage on a day to day basis with the senior project managers and project managers to ensure the key requirements of pressure compliance and project delivery constraints are balanced. The post holder may also be required to support other parts of the project from time to time as requested by their line management, and their experience. Qualifications & Experience Managing structural integrity and pressure regulation compliance requirements in the nuclear industry, in particular compilation of the technical documentation, management of the Third Party and preparation of the Declaration of Conformity. Mechanical engineering design and operation of pressure equipment specifically built to RCC-M or ASME codes. Working in a multidisciplinary and matrix environment. Working with regulators and supply chain companies to coach through the pressure compliance process. Knowledge of the nuclear industry and EDF group would be a plus. Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to plant in the UK would be a plus. Ability to be focussed on the requirements of the project, to show a 'can-do' approach to work and to work independently or with others to achieve the team goals. Ability to credibly interact with various stakeholders and to influence the internal teams and contractor partners, working in matrix organisation. Communication skills via appropriate media. Have awareness of technical limitation and be able to involve others when required. Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Science based discipline. Chartered Member of appropriate professional institution would be a plus (IMeche Preferred), or capable of being chartered. Experience Relevant Experience in large scale project or asset management within a highly regulated industry sector as Power Generation, Nuclear Industry or Oil &Gas / Petro-Chemical. Relevant experiences in relation with the engineering topics associated to pressure systems manufacture, installation, structural integrity and conformity assessment.
