The T&I department focuses on understanding how the firm conducts business and enabling improvement, incremental or transformational, via the enhanced, improved and integrated use of the right business systems. As applications specialists, and evangelists, the team will also act as second or third line support for a key set of solutions and support training. The team consists of Business System Consultants and Technical Business System Consultants who work closely together. This team is the link between how the firm operates today and how the firm will operate in the future. They carry both the responsibility for the origination and validation of potential projects as well as the execution of change. The opportunity

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Understanding leading and emerging legal business systems applications.

This involves research and continuous communication with the rest of the team.

Understanding how each team/department in the firm operates and uses technology.

Ongoing and regular communication with the business teams is essential.

Contributing to the ideas and initiatives of the T&I Team via:

Understanding and leveraging market knowledge of how systems are or can be used. Applying this application understanding to the firm’s business model. Being commercially aware of subscription and implementation costs. Contributing to business case for ROI on any initiative.

Business System Configuration and Bespoking:

Configuring of applications to customise their behaviour using the application’s chosen language/environment. Configuration may require specialist skill, training and/or certification which will be provided by the firm. Our goal is to be self-sufficient for 75%+ of requirements in the applications we support and required vendor assistance by exception.

Development

Developing code for either integration work and/or bespoke customisation of product behaviour beyond configuration. Projects

Running small, technical projects independently and assisting nominated project managers in larger projects. Acting as product specialists and evangelists within the firm; this will involve:

Second line support, assisting the Service Desk and liaising with the IT Ops team. Assisting the training function in both content creation and delivery as required. Liaising with the vendor on complex problems.

Who we are looking for

Skills & Experience

Experience of working within a law firm using one or more of the following product / product sets or working for a vendor for one or more of the products listed below: Elite Enterprise / 3E (on premise or cloud):

Aderant / P4W / Civica / LEAP / Clio / ActionStep will also be considered.

iManage or netDocuments:

On premise / cloud and multi-jurisdictional configuration of particular interest, API experience valuable.

Rekoop / Carpe Diem / Elite or Aderant direct will also be considered. Infotrack, Evaluate OnBoard will also be considered. Virtual data room and file sharing technologies such as HighQ, Hubshare, Share file. Document generation software such as Contract Express, Clariss or similar. Education and Qualifications

Job Specification

The hours of work for this opportunity are 09.30-17.30 but it is essential to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours when necessary. Overtime may be required e.g. events, special projects or particularly busy periods.
