Advise and assist in the planning and promotion of health, safety, environment, and quality programs and establish a suitable organization to implement them. Interpret and advise on the implementation of company policies, procedures, and safe systems of work. Monitor health, safety, environment, and quality performance on contracts and take necessary steps to improve standards. Assist in compiling, reviewing, and revising project SHEQ documentation and welfare setup, including CPP’s, QMP’s, Risk Registers, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Emergency Plans, etc., where applicable. Compile project data and upload it onto JSM’s electronic management system (AppCan). Assist in the preparation of pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and tender documentation. Coordinate with the SHEQ Department in all health, safety, environment, and quality matters. Ensure all levels of staff under your influence have appropriate training in health, safety, quality, and environmental matters and assist managers in identifying training gaps. Ensure strict adherence to reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerous occurrences as required under RIDDOR. Manage health, safety, environmental, and quality effectively in the same way you manage other aspects of the job. Monitor arrangements to ensure that health and safety standards applied by contractors are satisfactory and in accordance with contract and company specifications, policy, and procedures. Ensure compliance with the requirements of NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) is implemented and maintained across all power projects. You will have the following skills and experience:

3 - 4 years in a construction, utility, or civil-related similar role. Experience in NERS and the Electricity Industry. Experience working within live substations compounds. Good negotiation skills. Strong spoken and written communication skills. Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information. The ability to cope under pressure. A flexible, dynamic approach. Key competencies and qualifications:

NEBOSH general certificate or above (Level 6 desirable or working towards). EUSR or CSCS in related subject. Competent in core Microsoft software standards. NRSWA (SWQR). Working knowledge of HSG47. Proficient in accident/incident/utility damage investigation. Proficient in data analysis and compiling reports. Optional DNO’s/National Grid competencies.
