As a Senior Project Controller, you will be responsible for effective and proactive control of multi-million pound projects and will develop, maintain, execute and control complex project performance baselines to ensure delivery of best value to our customers. Reporting to the Head of PMO and as a linchpin in the Project Controls team, you’ll have the chance to work on national critical programmes across the NGUK National Security Solutions Defence operating unit portfolio, spanning from maritime to future combat air. Our UK Defence business is a Sovereign software and systems centre of excellence. As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Responsibilities: Leading and facilitating planning and scheduling functions and workshops, including schedule development, control, and analysis. Ensuring that customer and business processes are effectively and efficiently adhered to across the project team environment, with a dedication to continuous improvement and enhancement of current project controls methodologies. Building and maintaining a cost and schedule performance baseline which includes well defined scope, assumptions, deliverables, Work Breakdown Structure, Activity ID, and integrated critical path schedule that is resource loaded and allows for development risk. Development of accurate Estimate at Completion. Managing and developing a small team of project controllers to best support the programme and contribute to project controls deliverables with hands-on involvement in the day-to-day activities. We are looking for: Significant demonstrable Project Controls, Planning, Cost Management, or Accounting experience in a similar role in the defence, construction, rail, oil and gas, or manufacturing industry. This experience will include many programme lifecycles covering concept, assessment, development, manufacture, in-service, and disposal phases. Advanced user of project controls software including Oracle Primavera P6 and Deltek COBRA. Experience in effective use of EVMS processes. A strong disposition for professionally maintaining project-wide adherence and compliance to processes and procedures, sometimes in the face of adversity. Security clearance: You must be able to gain and maintain the relevant UK Government security clearance in line with the job role (SC).
